Projects

wide and wide, still flying

Meet me in the earth of the heavens:

A river delta, spreading wide and wide,

still flying

on dust and dirt so bright, cascading

these currents shimmering

with particles of blue.

Walk with me to the mountains,

to feel the earth in our marrow.

Then rest.  And rest.

with the reality of it all.

Soon to sail on suspended luminescence,

along the waves of this galaxy's night,

our mouths and fists

full of joy,

a laughter to hold this whole life.

fern (unfurling)

"fern (unfurling)" was a research project supported by the 2022 Nō Studios Performance Artist Fellowship, which explored systems theories on human development as templates for facilitating journeys of learning, healing, and transformation. Centering the acts of beginning and imagining as guiding maps for embracing movement's expression of vitality, the project held space for investigating the roles that curiosity and necessity play in autonomous engagement with craft.  The educational phases of "fern (unfurling)" offered movement improvisation workshops for the theater department at Necedah Area School District (Wisconsin).
